Combwich Christmas Tree

Start the Christmas festivities by joining us for the grand switch on of the Christmas tree lights in Combwich by none other than Helen Jowett. Helen is renowned for the tremendous amount of work she does for people and organisations in the parish and we are delighted she has agreed to do this for us.

The switching on of the lights will be immediately after the 4pm Christingle Service at St Peters Church at around 5pm this Sunday 2nd December. We look forward to seeing you.

Results from the cycling survey…

Thank you for all your responses to the survey.  They showed a significant interest in cycling in the village area and the route to Cannington.

The results were taken to the EDF transport forum. They have added real weight towards sustainable transport, especially in moving our goals forward in achieving a cycle/walking path between Combwich and Cannington.

50 forms were returned out of 350 (14%) representing 127 residents (119 cyclists and 8 non-cyclists).  22 cycle to work.  72 (57%) cycle and 79 (62%) walk between Combwich and Cannington.  100 (84%) cycle and 92 (72%) walk on the River Parrett path.  Many useful comments were also received.

If you have any further information with respect to cycling in your community, or you wish to support the cycling campaign, please contact us at

Thank you again for your support 😆

Pictured are a few of the volunteers who are moving surplus turf to the Common where it is need to fill holes created by an excess of rain over the last few months. Thanks to who are helping to make this project a reality. For more information ring 652998

New Multi-User Path

The new footpath leading from the track by Combwich Common is arousing lots of interest and we hoped it would be available for walkers very soon. Unfortunately there is still a significant amount of work that is required to bring the bridleway and associated works, adjacent to it, to a standard that the developers feel would be safe to allow members of the public to walk. There is also a need for the formal diversion order to be approved. Continue reading New Multi-User Path
