Another successful free kite making workshop was held in the village hall today, thanks to Mike Timmins pictured below who led the workshop. It was not clear who were the most enthusiastic, the parents or the children! Despite a rare day with little wind all the kites made were successfully flown. If you have and idea for an event like this please contact OPRA.

Thanks to all those who came along on Sunday to enjoy our fireworks.
Thanks also to Aly Prowse for lighting the beacon (wood supplied courtesy of the Village Hall!), and to all those volunteers who helped make it happen.
And here’s a photo taken by a junior member of our community!
“Kids” from three years old to nearly ninety, constructed sled kites in the village hall under the expert tuition of Mike Timmins and afterwards successfully flew them all on the common.
Many thanks to all those of you who supported this weekend’s Fete and Pig Roast. Whether you helped with the planning and preparation, donated things to sell, helped on the day by running a stall or even clearing up afterwards – small army was involved in making it happen and your efforts are very much appreciated. Of course, a special thank you to all those who supported us by coming along on the day.
